SHAH ALAM - Human rights fighter Jerald Joseph has officially ended his term as Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) Commissioner after six years of service.

He described the time as an “amazing experience” defending Malaysia’s good practices and pushing for change on where we have failed.

“It took me to all corners of Malaysia including prisons, Immigration depots, stateless villages, indigenous villages, urban poor housing and many more.

“I have learnt so much and so much for us to do ensure human rights belong to all not to just some.

“I want to wish you a sincere big thank you for our years of working together,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (April 26).

Joseph said good change was only possible if Malaysians worked together for a better Malaysia.

“It was my absolute privilege to give to our beautiful Malaysia,” he said, adding that he looked forward to continue serving the country and the world for human rights whenever needed.

Joseph will be one of the three panelist for Sinar Daily’s Wacana English Edition this Thursday night at 8.30pm on www.sinardaily.my and Sinar Daily Facebook page.
