KUALA TERENGGANU - A standard three pupil suffered head injuries after a friend's father attacked him outside school gates here on Sunday. Kuala Terengganu district police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Md Din said the incident occured at 1pm and was allegedly due to misunderstanding between the victim and his friend.

"Before the incident, they were playing together before they broke into a fight outside the school gates.

"It was said that the victim had slapped the classmate.

"When the father arrived, the classmate had told him about the fight and that he had been slapped.

"Witnesses say he had immediately chocked the boy and carried up before slamming him to the ground causing the victim to have a small cut on the head after hitting a rock," he told Sinar on Monday.

Abdul Rahim said the school authorities had called the victim's father to inform him of the incident.

The father, he said, had picked up the son and lodged a police a report.

"The victim was referred to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital and received outpatient treatment.
