Senior citizen charged with raping a cat to death
JOHOR BAHRU – A 63-year old man pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court here today for bestiality after he had sex with a cat, two weeks ago.
Janting Anak Keling made the plea after the charge was read to him before judge Fatimah Zahari.
Based on the charge sheet, the accused had committed the act with the cat at a playground in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Skudai here at about 4.30am on April 16.
The offence eventually led to the cat’s death.
The charge under Section 377 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment of up to 20 years, a fine or whipping, if convicted.
Deputy public prosecutor S. Thiviya who conducted the case offered no bail to the accused but proposed RM15,000 bail, if the court were to allow bail.
Janting who was not represented pleaded for a lower bail as he was unemployed.
The accused, who claimed that he was from Sarawak also said he had just moved here and was staying with his children.
The judge granted the accused RM6,000 bail with one surety and set May 25 for submissions of documents.
