KOTA KINABALU - The Immigration Department has never issued any letters of order for entry permit payments which recently went viral on social media.

Sabah Immigration Department director Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said a report was received on the document titled "Arahan Pembayaran Permit Masuk KDN" (Home Ministry order for entry permit payment) which was supposedly issued by the department.

"Checks revealed that all the documents were fake and have never been issued by the Sabah immigration office.

"The department urges people to not fall for this syndicate and contact the nearest immigration office to get accurate information if they ever come across such documents," she said in a statement today.

She added that reports could be lodged through the immigration Public Complaints Management System (SisPAA) at http://imi.spab.gov.my.

She called on all Malaysians especially those in Sabah to report such activities to prevent it from happening.

"This responsibility is not only borne by the security forces, but it is also the responsibility of the people in ensuring the security and sovereignty of the country," she said.
