Malaysia reports 7,140 cases, 16 deaths in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 7,140 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours as compared to 6,623 cases yesterday.

The nation also recorded another 16 fatalities, with four brought-in-dead (BID) cases, bringing the total to 35,437 deaths since the pandemic began.

Over 2,308 are hospitalised with 42 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) and 68 patients requiring ventilator support.

Currently, there are 96,601 active cases with 93,901 (97.2 percent) being quarantined at home.

The Health Ministry (MoH) also recorded 14,423 recoveries yesterday.

To date, Malaysia has recorded 4,396,165 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
