Ramadan bazaar favourites: Kek batik
CHEF ABU DZAROne of the easiest cakes to make, is kek batik! This no bake recipe combines a rich chocolate flavour with crushed biscuits. Have it on its own or with a glass of cold milk.
Ingredients:
600g Marie biscuits
200g salted butter
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup Milo powder
140ml hot water
1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Chocolate ganache toppings:
1 tablespoon salted butter
200g whipping cream
200g dark chocolate bar
Instruction:
1.In a heated pot, add butter, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, milo, and water and stir it for 4 minutes.
2.Add the biscuits one at a time and ensure that all biscuits are coated with the chocolate mixture.
3.Once done, transfer it to a baking tray. The mixture should be spread and leveled evenly.
4.For the ganache topping, use a saucepan to heat the butter. Add whipping cream, the chocolate bar and give it a good whisk.
5.Pour it on the kek batik, spreading it over the cake nice and even before putting it in the refrigerator.
6.Once the cake turns cold, remove it from the baking tray, cut it into squares and now it’s ready to be served!
