Malaysia records 11,223 recoveries, 6,623 new cases

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 6,623 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,389,025 infections since the pandemic began.

The Health Ministry's CovidNow portal reported 103,900 active cases with 101,294 (97.5 per cent) of them undergoing home quarantine.

A total of 11,233 patients recoveries were reported bringing the cumulative number of recoveries to 4,249,704 since the pandemic began.

The country recorded 12 deaths including eight brought in dead cases, bringing the total death toll to 35,421 since the pandemic began.

The portal also reported 2,250 patients were currently admitted to hospital.

Out of that, 126 patients were warded at intensive care units (ICU) with 76 patients requiring ventilation support.
