KUALA LUMPUR - The police are still investigating activist and graphic designer Fahmi Reza on his caricature of a monkey dressed in a yellow palace outfit posted on his social media platforms last Wednesday.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Abd Jalil Hassan said investigations were still underway as they consider whether or not there was a need to call others to record statements.

“So far we are still in the process of reviewing whether there is a need to call other individuals to aid in the investigations.

"However, currently there are no recent developments, and the investigation process is still ongoing,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Sunday.

On Saturday, Fahmi Reza was released after two days remand to assist investigations.

Abd Jalil said the investigations were conducted in accordance with Section 233 of the Act Communications and Multimedia 1998 for improper use of network facilities or network services.
