Standard 4 pupil suffers back injury after allegedly beaten by teacher

SHAH ALAM – A Standard 4 pupil in Bentong suffered injuries to her back after she was allegedly beaten by a teacher.

Bentong District Police Chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the victim’s father had lodged a police report against the 50-year old teacher at about 9.59pm on Monday.

“The victim was sent to the Bentong Hospital for treatment.

“The doctor confirmed that the girl sustained soft tissue injuries to her back as a result of being hit,” he said in a statement today.

He said initial investigations revealed that the teacher had allegedly hit the victim’s back with his hands.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury.

Zaiham also advised the public to not make any speculations on the case as the investigation was still ongoing.
