Malaysia records 15,941 new Covid-19 cases, 33 deaths

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia has recorded 15, 941 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a slight increase from the 15, 215, recorded, yesterday.

This brings the cumulative number of infections to 4,148,506, from when the outbreak started.

However, the country recorded 33 new Covid-19 fatalities, which included 11 brought-in-dead cases.

In terms of the number of cases, the Klang Valley still recorded the highest daily cases, with 9,225 infections detected, yesterday.

Currently, there were 206,591 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 200,962 or 97.3 per cent were home quarantined.

However, only 690 people were being treated at low-risk quarantine centers while another 4,664 were hospitalised.

A total of 107 cases were in intensive care units, with 168 of them requiring ventilator support.

As of yesterday, there were 21,186 patients who have recovered from the disease.
