Mahasiswa Keadilan: UiTM lecturer action's "unprofessional, unethical, unsympathetic,''
SHAH ALAM - Mahasiswa Keadilan Malaysia (Mahasiswa Keadilan) has urged for stern action to be taken against Professor Dr Roshana Takim for allegedly berating a student in her class due to his economic status.
In a statement today, Mahasiswa Keadilan urged the Higher Education Ministry as well as Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to take disciplinary action against Roshana as her actions were unethical and unprofessional.
"Her actions are clearly unsympathetic, unethical and unprofessional towards the student.
"Even if we felt that the lecturer had chided the student as the course requires a laptop, but humiliating the students after he had explained his family condition, is unacceptable and clearly an act of arrogance,'' said the statement.
"This matter must be a lesson towards academicians and everyone else to understand the value of humanity,'' added the statement.
The statement follows an incident where Roshana had allegedly chided a B40 student for no being possessing a laptop to attend her course.
She had then allegedly berated the student and even told him to seek monetary aid from his family member to buy a laptop.
