Covid-19: Positive cases rises slightly to 15,215 , with 64 new fatalities .

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia has recorded 15,215 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a slight uptick compared to 13,336 cases the day prior.

Despite the slight uptick in cases today, Malaysia continues to record a downward trend as it prepares to reopen its national borders and enter the endemic phase on April 1.

However, the country also recorded 64 new Covid-19 fatalities including another 14 brought-in-dead cases.

This makes the total cumulative death at 34,906 since the pandemic began.

In terms of cases, the Klang Valley still records the highest daily cases, with 8,482 infections detected yesterday.

Currently, there are 211,869 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 205,927 or 97.2 per cent is home quarantined.

However, only 817 persons are being treated at low risked quarantine centres while another 4,843 cases are hospitalised.

A total of 282 cases are being treated in intensive care units to date, with 176 of them requiring ventilator support.

The nation also recorded 24,154 recovery cases as of yesterday. To date the total Covid-19 case tally at 4,132,733.
