SHAH ALAM - A PKR leader says Pakatan Harapan (PH) would rather work with Muda than Perikatan Nasional (PN) before the 15th General Elections, defying a proposal made by a prominent Amanah man to do so.
But Setiawangsa Parliament Member Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has left the doors open for any possible discussion with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s PN after the elections to form a stronger government.
He said as for now, it is easier for them to work with the three-month-old led by Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman than with PN.
“It is best for PH and Muda to collaborate (before GE).
“If there is a need to talk to PN or BN to form a (stronger) government, we will do that after the elections,” he told during an interview with Sinar Daily Politically Frank.
Mazlan Aliman, a popular former social activist from PAS now with Amanah had warned that PH would lose badly in elections unless they unite against Barisan Nasional (BN).
When asked about the uneasy relationship between PKR and Muda after a disagreement over seats during Johor polls, Nik Nazmi who is also the Keadilan chief organising secretary, said he would treat Muda the same as PH would treat them for the coming elections.
He further said the disagreement between PKR and Muda could have been avoided as "both share many similarities, so I do hope that they will come and talk to us so that better understanding could be formed between us."
Last month, PKR had slammed Muda over Larkin seat clash which it is vying for, saying the move justifies having all Pakatan Harapan parties reclaim any seats offered to the new party.
Former PKR Perak chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak had said there was no benefit in working with the Syed Saddiq if it continued to act like a “big brother”.
