Covid-19: Health Ministry records 34 fatalities, 20,923 new cases in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - The nation recorded 34 new fatalities related to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, including eight brought in dead cases.

The country also recorded 20,923 new Covid-19 positive cases yesterday, with 228 of them being imported cases.

Currently, there are also 242,487 active cases with a total of 4,122,004 total cases recorded thus far since the pandemic began.

Cumulatively, Malaysia has also recorded 34,751 total fatalities related to Covid-19.

Klang Valley and Selangor have recorded the most Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours compared to other states in the country, with 11,397 and 9,245 cases respectively.

Meanwhile, Lembah Klang and Selangor also have the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 with the recorded amount of 152 and 133 deaths respectively in the last 14 days.

In terms of vaccination rate, Lembah Klang has indicated the highest number at 95 per cent with Pulau Pinang and Negeri Sembilan following at 86.3 per cent and 84.5 per cent respectively.
