SHAH ALAM - After a dismal performance at the Johor polls, Amanah vice president, Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa has said the opposition bloc has a choice to either unite or lose in GE15.
He said it is crucial for the opposition bloc to get rid of ego and see the bigger picture.
Starting off with PKR using a different logo while PH used another, he said it shows there is a lack of unity among them.
“A decision was made to respect the choice of PKR to use own logo although doing so only shows they (PH) is not united, not in agreement even in trivial things such as using the same logo,” he said during Sinar Daily's Politically Frank segment.
Barisan Nasional cemented a two-third majority winning 40 out of the total 56 seats contested. Speculations are rife that GE15 will be held by July.
Due to that Mujahid, the Parit Buntar MP said the opposition needs to acknowledge to lose polls if they remain disunited, adding that failing to be one voice against BN caused them to perform poorly in the recent state polls.
AS for BN, he said voters may not feel cheated after Onn Hafiz Ghazi was appointed as the Menteri Besar instead Hasni Mohammad, the poster boy during the election campaign.
“I do not have the right to answer that because that is within the authority of Umno, but what I understand is that usually the ruling party will propose a name to the Palace, and with that proposed name it should be understood that it represents the people who vote for them.
“If a different name comes up, then Umno should do something about it,” he said.
