Covid-19 : 85 fatalities, 21,817 new positive cases

SHAH ALAM - The Health Ministry recorded another 85 fatalities related to Covid-19, including 23 brought-in-dead cases in the last 24 hours.

This brings the cumulative death toll from the pandemic to 34,329 people.

Malaysia also recorded 21,817 new Covid-19 positive cases, including 524 imported cases yesterday, a slight decline compared to 23,720 cases in the previous day.

Currently, there are 283,275 active cases with 7,164 being hospitalised or only 2.5 per cent of the total active cases.

Out of that number, 390 people are being treated in intensive care units with 219 of them requiring respiratory assistance.

In terms of recovery, 33,347 cases were recorded yesterday, a sharp uptick compare to 26,615 cases recorded the previous day.

To date, Malaysia has recorded 3,942,392 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
