KUALA LUMPUR - Umno must stop mentality of relying on other parties to govern the country, says Umno Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

He stated that the party did not need to rely on Pas, Bersatu or Pakatan Harapan as a lifeline and back-up.

“This culture of lifelines must be removed. Don’t ever ask for an extra life from others.

“We must also stop giving lives to others especially those who are taking advantage of the opportunity. In the end, they end up stabbing our backs,” he said in his speech during the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings’ launch at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur tonight.

Mohamad said Umno will no longer be ‘lovers’ will those who ‘cheat’ in working relationship as well as those who likes to test the waters.

“All of this requires political superiority and wisdom. Not just a catch fit like establishment like Perikatan Nasional.

“A frog, chameleon, a duck - whatever that walks and flies pass them, they will just grab them.

“What is certain, we will not invite those who have been openly formed to replace Umno, what more DAP with its chauvinistic agenda.

“And also those with a wondering eye, like to play in the pool and leverage off the benefits from others and sleep with Umno’s enemies but at the same time trying to woo Umno, Umno’s stand is no to those who cheat and only to those who are loyal,” he added.

Despite being labelled ‘a duck who broke its legs’, the Rantau assemblyman said it was clear that they have obtained the support of Malays once more.

“To those who compare Umno to a duck with broken legs, we are here to remind you, label us with whatever you feel like but Umno will continue to be the legs and hands of the people.

“In fact, at this juncture, Umno are the legs and hands of the government now,” he said. - AWANI
