SHAH ALAM - The Health ministry will submit a white paper to look into public health reforms to the Dewan Rakyat in November.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said it looks into proposed solutions for the healthcare sector.

It aims to look at current issues, gaps, and constraints faced by the sector to strengthen the national health system to offer higher quality and to make it easily accessible, and affordable for the long term.

“It is important that we strengthen this to meet the health needs of the people in line with Malaysia's current status as a high middle-income country.

“In future, all efforts will include the ‘whole of government’ and ‘whole of society’ approach to mobilise actions of various parties in ensuring better health of the people, ” he said in Dewan Rakyat today.

In addition, he said the white paper will take into account the recommendations of various health groups through engagement sessions.

He was responding to Wong Hon Wai (PH-Bukit Bendera) who asked the health ministry on details on the white paper and when it would be tabled in Parliament.
