Announcement on Johor MB 'anytime now', says Annuar Musa
A candidate has been choosen, says the Umno veteran
He further said the Barisan Nasional chairman has named one candidate.
"Congratulations and good luck in carrying out your duties," he tweeted.
Speculation has been rife that if BN poster boy Hasni Muhammad is not appointed, the post may go to the 43-year old Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
Umno Youth exco member, Bastien Onn said the changes in the state top post shows Umno Johor has the courage to put the young in leadership.
"If there's a change in the candidate, it just shows Umno Johor has the courage (to promote young leadership).
“It sends a strong signal to the Federal government," he said on Astro Awani today.
During the live, he was asked if voters would feel cheated after displaying Hasni Mohammad as the poster boy.
However, yesterday Hasni suggested to the party’s leadership to appoint someone younger to lead the state.
"Seeing the support and position of the younger generation who are important to the development of Johor, and for the sake of the state's lasting prosperity, I suggest that the party leadership elect young people to lead Johor.
"God willing, under the new leadership, the state will be more prosperous,” Hasni said in a statement.
