SHAH ALAM: Several Umno members are in talks with Kuala Nerus MP Khairuddin Aman Razali after quitting PAS today.

A party insider said both parties have shown interest to work with one another after Khairuddin had a falling out with PAS.

"The initial cracks between Khairuddin and the party leadership began over a year ago but their relationship worsened over time.

"We are now in talks to see what can he bring to the table," said the Umno insider.

The source added Umno could influence Khairuddin to help them make inroads into PAS stronghold, Terengganu.

"We have been talking to PAS in the past to give us more seats but they have been adamant.

"Since Khairuddin is a heavyweight in Terengganu, we are trying to leverage on his strength," he told Sinar Daily.

This comes as Umno has been snubbing PAS over Muafakat Nasional, cooperation between Umno and PAS formed in 2019.
