SHAH ALAM - PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took to Twitter in congratulating BN for sweeping the victory during the 15th state election in Johor yesterday.

In his Twitter post, he stated that PKR accepted the decision made by the people of Johor in choosing BN to govern the state.

Even so, he also added that the trend of poor turnout among the voters was unfortunate and it disrupted the democratic process as well as saying his gratitude towards PH-PKR coalition campaigners for their hard works throughout the state election.

"This (Johor polls) result is also an important reminder for political parties to regain their strength for the upcoming general election," he wrote.

However, the post garnered criticism from social media users expressing their disappointment towards Anwar's governance in PKR and that they wanted him to step down from the party.

A social media user @ismailyusofis replied to the post asking him to reform PKR as he opined that the party now stand for mere theatrics

"Anwar, step down. Let a new face such as Nurul Izzah to lead PKR," @NassrolFahmi wrote.

"Well it bogs down to one issue. How long are the oppositions want to stay disunite to give an easy passageway for a BN win? Perhaps it's time for the PH old guards to step aside & give way for the younger one to lead eg RR/Nurul/Fahmi Fadzil/Adly etc," another social media user @berrirogers replied to the post.

Another social media user @nitrochris expressed his thoughts by saying that the three state elections were a clear indicator of what the problems are and if Anwar fails to realize it, the rakyat will not go all out to support Opposition parties for the GE15.
