SHAH ALAM - BN’s victorious win in the Johor state election was beyond everyone’s expectations, says Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said many had expected BN to win but only with a simple majority or by 35 seats.

However, he said winning 40 state assembly seats in the polls yesterday was beyond their set target.

He said voters could now differentiate the leadership better as they were previously governed by BN for more than 60 years.

Then, he said, they were only able to look at BN’s weaknesses.

“The people can now evaluate who is better and it has been proven that BN is much more focused on helping the people.

“That is why we won in Melaka.

“And that is why we won again in Johor. The people had an easy decision to make,” he said in a Facebook posting today.

Ismail Sabri, who is also the ninth Prime Minister, also thanked the Johor voters for trusting BN to lead the state as well as thanked all Umno and BN leadership, friend of the parties and machinery who made the win possible.

“The poeple of Johor has made their decision and all parties have to accept this with an open heart.

“Let’s now forget the competition and put together as big Keluarga Malaysia to develop Johor further,” he added.
