Johor Polls: Umno veteran Puad Zarkashi wins Rengit seat

SHAH ALAM - Rengit state assembly seat remains with Umno after BN’s Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi wins with 7,903 votes.
The Umno veteran beat PN’s Mohammad Huzair Lajis from Bersatu (5,983) and Pejuang’s Nizam Bashir Abdul Kariem Bashir with only 206 votes.
The total number of votes cast was 16,598 with 346 rejected ballots and 95 unreturned ballot papers.
Mohd Puad won with a majority of 1,920.
The incumbent was Ayub Jamil (BN-Umno) who 9,642 in the 14th General Election with a majority of 4,172.
