SHAH ALAM - Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh has claimed some political parties are setting up camps in front of the SK Sagil Kampong voting centre in Tangkak.

In his Facebook page, he claimed they were from Perikatan Nasional (PN) and has set up tents about 50 metres away from the centre to attract voters.

“This is in clear violation of Section 26 of the Election Offences Act 1954 (EOA 1954).

“I have taken the initiative to approach an election officer and insisted they take action on any political parties that are flouting rules,” he said.

He further said an election official told him that the parties involved were told to pack up, "but they have since regrouped.

He added that the time for campaigning is over since midnight and that polling centres were not a place for parties to woo votes.

“Let’s work together to make this election a fair and just election. This is our responsibility too,” he said in his video.

As of 2pm today, voter turnout for the 15th Johor state election was at 40 per cent.
