SHAH ALAM: He has been fined five times for violating Covid-19 SOPs, but former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is at it again.

He appeared at Medan 988, located at the outskirts of Iskandar Puteri of Skudai last night, campaigning for MCA's candidate Lim Soon Hai.

As soon as supporters who were wearing BN t-shirts saw Najib's car, they surrounded him to show support. Najib was further greeted with a lion dance troupe followed by "Bossku! Bossku! chants.

This is a far cry from GE14, the Chinese voters had turned their backs on Najib after 1MDB scandal and were in fear of the impact of GST and the rising cost of living.

The Chinese voters further took the opportunity to talk selfies with Najib last night.

Lim faces Marina Ibrahim (DAP), Khoo Kong Ek (PN). In 2018, DAP won the seat with a 35,126 majority.

Najib during his speech to almost a packed crowd said DAP was trying to trick voters by placing a Malay candidate.

"But who do we want? Lim Soon Hai," Najib told a cheering crowd. He urged them to vote for BN as it was a multi-racial party.

Yesterday, health minister Khairy Jamaluddin had said Najib had been fined 5 times for going against SOPs.
