Wanita MCA leader tests positive for Covid, under home quarantine
Shah Alam - Wanita MCA National Chairperson Datuk Heng Seai Kie has ceased all campaign activities for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Johor state elections (PRN Johor) and currently undergoing self-quarantine after she was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive.
Given her appointment as the BN Election Coordinator for Johor northern region, she had actively campaigned for BN candidates in the state constituencies of Tangkak in Ledang; Bekok in Labis; Jementah in Segamat, Bentayan, in Muar, and Mengkibol in Kluang, together with Wanita MCA Vice Chairperson Dato’ Lim Nget Yoon, from March 3 to March 6.
Even before nomination day for the candidates, Seai Kie had already begun participating in many programmes organised by the various MCA Divisions.
She also made frequent trips to and fro Johor for campaign purposes together with Wanita MCA Central Committee members.
For the safety of public health, she conducted Rapid Antigen Kit (RTK) self-tests daily.
All the results showed up negative except that on 8 March 2022 when she experienced Covid-19 symptoms of a cold and sore throat.
She then immediately ceased all activities.
Seai Kie has requested Nget Yoon as the Wanita MCA Election Steering Committee Chairperson to head all subsequent campaign activities in southern Johor scheduled from March 9 to March 11.
Currently undergoing quarantine at home, Datuk Heng’s condition is stable.
