Flood situation improves in Terengganu, number of evacuees continues to drop in Kelantan

KUALA LUMPUR - The flood situation in Terengganu has fully recovered, while the number of flood victims in Kelantan has dropped since this afternoon.

In Terengganu, the three last relief centres (PPS) in Hulu Terengganu were officially closed at 1 pm today, and all the 477 evacuees from 160 families were allowed to return to their respective houses.

The Terengganu Disaster Management Committee Secretariat stated it is prepared for any eventuality and advised the public to be on the alert for any change in the weather condition.

Meanwhile, in Kelantan, the number of evacuees at the nine PPS in Pasir Mas and Tumpat has dropped to 2,260 people from 692 families, compared to 2,730 people from 836 families this morning.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS) website reported that all major rivers in Kelantan were now at normal level. - BERNAMA
