Covid-19: 115 death, 27,500 new cases

SHAH ALAM - A total of 115 Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday (March 2) with 36 brought-in-dead cases.

According to Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, Malaysia has recorded 32,942 total deaths since the pandemic in March 2020.

Malaysia logged in another 27,500 new Covid-19 cases yesterday making the total number of active cases 321,036.

Of the active cases, 309,069 or 96.3 per cent were undergoing home quarantine while 3,425 (1.1 per cent) are at quarantine centres (PKRCs) and 8,182 (2.5 per cent) were hospitalised.

Currently, 360 patients were in the intensive care unit of which 194 were ventilated.

As for data on vaccination rate, at least 98.7 per cent of adults received their first dose, 97.5 per cent had their second dose and only 62.8 per cent has gotten their booster shot.

Meanwhile, 93.2 per cent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 have received their first dose and 90.1 per cent received both doses.

As for children (5-11 years old), 26.2 per cent has received at least their first dose since it the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) started last month.
