Bad weather till 8pm, Wednesday in several states, warns MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM - Thunderstorms, heavy rains, and strong winds are expected to last until 8pm today (Wednesday) in Kedah, Perak, and Selangor.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the areas included Sik and Baling, in Kedah, Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama and Hulu Perak, in Perak and Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang and Kuala Langat, in Selangor.

It said in a statement that the strong weather was expected to continue until 7pm in several other areas in the Peninsular.

"In Perak, the areas affected include Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim. Other areas include Melaka, Tanah Tinggi Cameron and Bentong, Pahang," it said.

A similar warning was also issued in Kuala Lumpur, Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau, Negeri Sembilan as well as Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru, in Johor.

Apart from that, the forecast is also for some parts of Sarawak which included Sri Aman, Betong, Kapit, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu and Limbang.

For Sabah, it said the affected areas were the interior areas (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tambunan), West Coast, Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat.
