KLUANG - BN Johor election director Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has voiced confidence that the “court cluster” tale will not carry weight in Johor polls, adding that it will not tarnish its credibility.

Mohamad, commonly known as Tok Mat said the narrative is often used by BN’s opponents to trigger emotional responses within voters as they have nothing else to offer.

“I am confident that this narrative will not have an effect on the voters here,’’ he said to reporters after attending an event in Machap today.

BN candidate for the Machap state seat, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi was also present.

Tok Mat, who is also Umno deputy president further dismissed the perception of "court cluster" calling for the polls to trigger a general election to escape from being imprisoned.

Such allegations, he said are simply preposterous and disrespectful on the judicial process in the country.

“So what if we win Johor or even the general election. The court process will proceed as usual as it is evident now,’’ he said.

The “court cluster” refers to several politicians in Umno including former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, among others.
