SHAH ALAM - Housing and Local Government Ministry has advised the public to stay alert of any evacuation and untoward incident after bad weather warnings from the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

The department has warned of heavy rain and strong winds till Feb 26.

Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican urged the public to give full cooperation if told to evacuate.

“The weather has been cloudy, raining past few days. I have received a report of floods and natural catastrophe incidents in several states from the Fire and Rescue Department through every State Emergency Operations Center,” he wrote in his Facebook.

MetMalaysia has so far issued a warning of continuous rain in three states - Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang (Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan).

Other states affected are Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Temerloh, Maran, Rompin), Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang (Bentong, Bera), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan and Johor (Segamat, Mersing).
