11 sexual harassment charges groundless - Ebit Lew
TENOM - Celebrity preacher Ebit Lew claimed that the 11 sexual harassment charges framed against him were baseless and aimed at ruining his credibility.
He said he believed that a certain group of people had planned for him to face the charges in court, on Friday.
“I see the charges as groundless, aggravated and aimed at ruining my credibility.
“It could also be seen that I was insulted, humiliated and this is to stop me from carrying out charity work and I believe that this has been long planned by a group of people,” he said when met outside the circuit court in the Tenom district office, after the proceeding.
He said he was shocked when he learnt that he was going to be charged in court while he was carrying out charity work, in Sabah.
He said he had planned to come to the state to conduct charity work for 40 days.
“I am not worried because I know that I am innocent and I am confident that this was planned by some people who had from the start tried to disrupt my charity work.
“This is a test for me from Allah and I feel calm in going through this as I am carrying out charity work,” he said.
He added that he will leave it to his lawyer to handle the case and will go through the court process until the disposal of the case.
