Gemalai: A look inside Poplook’s Raya collection

With the advent of their Raya collection, homegrown fashion brand Poplook showcases the delicate art of lace and embroidery.

The Gemalai collection is a nod to old Malaya, where effortless and body hugging kebayas are designed with delicate scallop hems and baju kurungs are cut clean, embellished with eyelet embroidery.

With a total of 53 items on the list, the collection offers a variety of designs for women and children that will transport the wearers back to a simpler time.

Crafted in natural cotton and rayon-linen blends, all pieces in the collection are breathable and perfect for the country’s warm tropical weather.

Without sacrificing beauty for comfort, the collection comes in an array of colours that range from butter yellow to deep berry hues and blue fogs to deep greens.

All designs are available in sizes XS to 4XL. As for kids, sizes are available for those aged one to 12.

The pieces are also created in smaller sizes for little girls, so mothers can match their little ones to their heart's content this festive season.
