PCS is ready to field new, young candidates for GE15, says Anifah Aman
KOTA KINABALU - Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) is ready to field new and young candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).
Its president, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said event the candidates from the previous Sabah state election have professional backgrounds apart from being young and new.
“We did offer new candidates. Our previous candidates even consist of accountants, lawyers and some of them are below the age of 40 and are still with PCS.
“Now it is up to them to work hard and if there are elements that show that they have a good amount of support, may not necessarily be high but if there is support, we will consider.
“What is most important is that they have the potential and want to be a candidate, to enter the constituency and show their faces to the people, be on the ground, not me that has to be there.
“So if they want to be candidates, they have to do all this themselves,’’ he said to Sinar Daily recently.
When asked whether he will contest again for the Kimanis seat, Anifah said he is ready to make way for other candidates that have the potential to win.
“If the candidate has a better chance to win than me, then we would allow it.
“I am still the president, I am still campaigning but we will choose the best candidate. Not necessarily for the president to be the candidate,’’ he said.
