SHAH ALAM - Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director, Commissioner Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay stressed that the police will go all out and combat individuals involved in the misuse and illegal trade of drugs due to its large negative impact on society.

He said further that Malaysia has long since recognised drugs as its number one enemy.

“We (the police) will go all out against them. There is no more warning for them.

“This is a jihad to fight against the nation’s number one enemy. The only way is to show no mercy and take direct action.

“We want the full cooperation from the people including parents.

“Immediately informed (the police) if their children are involved with drugs so that the necessary action and early treatment can be taken before it is too late,’’ he said to Sinar Harian on Monday.

Ayob Khan said in fact the Ops Tapis Khas which were carried out for three days from Jan 21 and involved 2,696 officers, will continue to be carried out.

He explained that the operations will proceed well into February and will be done every month as means to combat illegal drug activities.

“This operation will be improved from time to time including from the aspect of manpower.

“I have also ordered officers at all contingent to conduct a post mortem to evaluate problems that crop up in previous operations,’’ he said.

He also stated that Ops Tapis Khas is targeting drug pushers and distributers, drug dens and hardcore drug abusers.

Ayob Khan said NCID is committed to eradicating illegal drugs in the country.

He said further drug abuse is a serious matter as it relates to so many other social problems and criminal activities.
