BloomThis: In preparation for the festive season

Flowers holds special significance in Chinese New Year celebrations. It's a busy time for florists during this festive season, and it's no exception for BloomThis, a local e-commerce platform for on demand flower delivery service.

BloomThis' co-founder, Penny Choo shared that the preparation for CNY began a few months before to ensure plans are well executed and that customer's orders are met.

For this, meticulous planning is need for the festive season. More so for BloomThis as they do not only offer flowers - there are curated gifts and food involved too. Many of these items are imported as well, so it is their responsibility to ensure things go smoothly in the logistics department.

"For Chinese New Year, we have three categories - fresh flowers arrangement, plants and gourmet food items," she said in the new Dazzle episode of Sinar Daily.

When asked about the significance of flowers for the festive season, she explained about the major role they played for the Chinese community during CNY.

"Flowers play an important role in creating the Chinese New Year vibe."

"It's always refreshing for us to be welcomed into a house with beautiful fresh flowers when you are hosting people during the celebration," she said.

She mentioned that BloomThis uses a lot of pussy willows for their flower arrangements sold during this festive seasons due to the fact that the flower is long-lasting and symbolizes fortune, prosperity and health.

BloomThis is founded by husband-and-wife duo Giden Lim and Penny Choo.

Their products and services are available at Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, with operational hubs at Penang and Johor Bahru.
