Use of different logos will not affect relations within PH, assures Anwar Ibrahim
SEREMBAN - PKR's decision to use their own logo in the Johor state election compared to allies Amanah and DAP utilising the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo will not affect relations between the parties.
PH chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim assured the relationship between the PH leadership remains strong and further explain that the use of different logos under the coalition for elections is not unusual as it has been done before.
“The issue of (different) logos does not affect our relationship. Even during the 13th General Election we use our own respective logos and PKR at that time was strong. In the Sabah state election, PKR used our own (logo), DAP had also used the Warisan logo, but it did not affect our relations.
“Some people are trying to use this logo issue as if it has never happened before and they are exaggerating this particular issue. We use (the PKR logo) because of sentiments, especially in rural Malay areas. That is our view and when discussed, this is what we agreed on, " he told reporters after the town hall session in conjunction with the 60th Annual General Assembly of the Persatuan Kebangsaan Pelajar Islam Malaysia (PKPIM), here on Saturday.
On January 26, the PH Presidential Council agreed to allow DAP and Amanah to use the PH logo while PKR will use its own logo in the Johor state election
Meanwhile, Anwar, who is also PKR president, said it was unacceptable for DAP to leave its allies and form cooperation with other parties in the Johor state election as the latter have been one of PH's founding parties. - Bernama
