SHAH ALAM - The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is keeping a close eye on the worrying trend of children watching pornography.

Its Minister, Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun said the issue has been under the ministry's observation especially now as children are more exposed to electronic devices and the internet.

"The issue of children viewing pornography is indeed on the ministry's radar.

"This happened when there was uncontrolled exposure to technology and the internet to children," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Friday.

On Thursday, Sinar Harian has reported the issue of pornography addiction among children under the age of 12.

Member of the Malaysians Against Pornography (MAP) Secretariat, Abdullah Azzam Sufyan said, what worries him more is the normalization of viewing pornography at a young age.

He said some of these children are addicted to watching pornography because they have seen their parents and older siblings see it on smartphones and television.
