JOHOR BAHRU - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has finalised seat allocations for the upcoming Johor state election, said Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu.

He said during the PH Presidential Council meeting on Monday, the coalition decided that Amanah and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) would each contest 20 seats while DAP, 16.

However, he said the list of candidates was still being discussed and has yet to be finalised.

"At the same time, we are still open for negotiations with any other parties if they want to cooperate with PH in the state election.

"If their participation can further increase the chances for PH to secure victory, all three party leaders will discuss the matter,” he told reporters in Permas Jaya here today.

Also present were Pasir Gudang Member of Parliament Hassan Abdul Karim and Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan.

Mohamad said talks on cooperation with other parties such as the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) were still ongoing and the outcome would be known in a day or two.

Meanwhile, Aminolhuda said the party’s list of candidates was ready and was currently awaiting confirmation from the central leadership.

Elaborating, he said 14 out of the total 20 seats allocated for Amanah would be contested by new faces with some of them being young candidates.

On PH Presidential Council’s decision to allow PKR to contest using its own logo in the Johor state election, Mohamad said the move would not confuse voters as they were already familiar with both PKR and PH’s logos.

"For me, there is no problem for PKR to use its own logo in representing PH,” he said. - BERNAMA
