Dr Mahathir in stable condition, says daughter Marina
KUALA LUMPUR - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is in stable condition said Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir.
In a brief statement today, Marina stated her father is also responding well to his treatment at the National Heart Insititute (IJN).
"His condition is stable and he is responding well to the treatment. Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali as well as the family appeal for the people to pray for his speedy recovery," she said, referring to her mother and other family members.
Earlier today, Dr Mahathir was admitted to IJN's cardiac care unit however the exact cause as to why is still unknown.
The Langkawi MP was also visited by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier.
Ismail Sabri briefly stated on his social media that he had met with Dr Siti Hasmah and expressed hope for the family to remain steadfast
Earlier this month, Dr Mahathir was also cleared to be discharged from IJN after undergoing elective surgery.
