Pol-sec asks to pray for Tun M's health to improve
SHAH ALAM - Political secretary to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Abu Bakar Yahya Aby addresses rumours about the former premier's health situation, stating them as untrue.
He said many have been asking him about Dr Mahathir's health.
“What is important is to pray for his health to improve,” he said in a Facebook posting at 4pm
Members of the media started gathering outside the National Heart Institute (IJ) after the Langkawi MP was readmitted today.
It was said that Dr Mahathir is in the coronary care unit (CCU), The Star daily reported on its website.
The 96-year old was discharged on Jan 13 after a successful elective medical procedure, after he was admitted on Jan 7.
There were no details on his elective procedure but Dr Mahathir had spent a week at IJN in December to undergo a check-up and a series of unspecified medical investigations.
He has a history of heart ailments and has had three heart attacks - one in 1989 and another two in 2006 and has underwent a quadruple bypass.
