Man stabs wife with scissors over money to get drugs
LAHAD DATU – A man who was desperate for money to buy drugs had stabbed his wife with a pair of scissors after she refused to give him some cash.
The 21-year old victim sustained injuries on her right arm requiring three stitches during the incident which took place at Kampung Tanjung Labian, here, at about 7pm, on Wednesday.
District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Rohan Shah Ahmad said the incident involved a Filipino woman who was injured after being stabbed by her husband.
“In the incident, the 25-year old suspect had stabbed his wife using a pair of scissors just because she refused to give him the money he had asked for.
“The victim was treated at a health clinic in Desa Kencana and received three stitches on her right arm,” he said in a statement.
He said investigations revealed that the couple had been married for five years and they have two children aged 2 and 3.
The suspect, he said, had turned himself in at the Desa Kencana police station, here, at about 12.30pm, today.
“The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum imprisonment of 10 years or a fine or whipping, or any two of the punishments, if convicted,” he added.
