KUALA LUMPUR -- The Special parliamentary sitting began in an uproar today after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri took a swipe at opposition who were lawmakers "missing" from helping their respective constituents during the floods last year.

Ismail stated that he was present at Bukit Lanchong, Putra Heights to oversee flood relief during the first day of the incident, compared to some other opposition lawmakers that were not present at their respective areas.

“There were many that claimed that they did not see my face during the floods, but I have been on the ground from day one.

"But I didn't see the other assemblyman, parliamentarians that was working that night,'' he said.

Ismail remarks did not sit well with many from the opposition bench, drawing sharp retorts and shouts from across the aisle with claims that it was the government that supposedly failed to address the issue.

Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad also stood up and stated opposition MPs have been on the ground as well but was cut short.

Later in his address, Ismail Sabri also explained that he was not supposed to chair the Selangor state disaster management meeting.

Khalid once again stood up and asked Ismail Sabri whether it was Tan Sri Noh Omar that suppose to chair the meeting.
