SHAH ALAM - Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (WUI) through its "Cuci, Pulih and Iqra 2.0" programme, donated 100 copies of the Quran to the parishioners of the al-Hassany surau in Batu 3, here, who were affected by the recent floods.

Through the programme, WUI had contributed two sets of Qurans each having seven types of Quranic manuscripts aimed at creating a Quran Corner in the surau.

According to WUI chief research officer Safri Muhammad Zein, the contribution was a continuation of the surau's previous clean-up programme after the flood incident.

He said the foundation had also donated 100 sets of telekung (female praying attire), 100 prayer mats, 100 kain pelikat (chequered sarong) as well as two shelves for the Qurans.

"Alhamdulillah, we have cleaned up (the surau) and now we will continue reciting the Quran.

"We have donated the Qurans and we hope that this will benefit the people here and also those who had made the contributions," he said at the programme, here, on Saturday.

The donations were handed over to the surau's advisor Mohamed Abdul Hamid and its chairman Jannatul Naim, during the event.

Apart from the handing over of the Qurans, there was also a recitation session of Surah As-Sajdah, verse one until four by Safri and Mohamed.
