Malaysia holds 12th most powerful passports worldwide for visa-free travel in 2022

Malaysian passports was listed 12th place for the most powerful passports globally, confirmed by the Henley Passport Index by Henley & Partners, a London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm.

The passport index updated quarterly, is compiled by using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

A total of 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations were studied for the purpose of the index.

Malaysian passport allows its holder to enter 179 destinations worldwide without having the need to apply for a visa making travel cheaper and hassle-free for the globetrotter.

Despite so it is not enough to top Singapore which dominates the first place alongside Japan with the index score of 192 each.

However, it was noted that the pandemic related travel bans takes precedence in the information recorded as people are looking to travel to countries that are stable and secure.
