SHAH ALAM - The government needs to find other alternatives to help the rakyat in sustaining their lives apart from the withdrawal of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Pasir Gudang MP, Hassan Abdul Karim said the intention to help the rakyat was right but it should not require them to withdraw their EPF money.

“We suggest the government reshuffle the cabinet, reduce the number of the ministers, deputy ministers, and the position of minister-level special envoys that caused billions of Ringgit.

“Other than that, the Prime Minister needs to start saving.

"House renovations in Putrajaya should not have cost RM35 million, it should have been done moderately.

“RM26 billion was used just to build a building is illogical.

“The huge projects that cost billions of Ringgit need to be reconsidered as we have to prioritize the needs of the rakyat.

“We will impose taxes on them and we will use the money to help the rakyat.

“The government needs to be creative in coming up with ideas to help the rakyat.

“Enough with the rakyat helping each other during trying times, right now, the government is the one who needs to take the responsibility of helping the rakyat,” he said.

He said the Dewan Rakyat will hold a special conference regarding floods and matters of helping the rakyat will be discussed on Jan 20,

“We managed to raise the Covid-19 funds of RM30 billions during the special conference before this.

“The government and the opposition party will try to find ways to get sufficient funds to help the rakyat,” he said.
