SHAH ALAM -- Eligible students will start to receive their Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) starting from Jan 17, announced the Ministry of Education (MOE) today.

The aid, worth RM150, will be credited to students' bank accounts while those who do not possess bank accounts, cash aid will be dispersed by their respective school based on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) set by the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health.

The disbursement of BAP on Jan 17 is meant to help students Year Two to Form 5 that is due to start their academic term for 2022/2023 on March 21.

This means students From Year One to Form Four currently schooling for the term 2021/2022 are eligible also to receive the aid.

However, for Year One Students who are registering on Mac 21, 2022, the BAP will be disbursed after registration is done.

MOE also announced that the aid will help some 3 million students whose household income is below RM3,000.
