SHAH ALAM -- Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik has been called by the police to give his statement over his alleged comments on the controversy surrounding Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Tan Sri Azam Baki.

In a video posted by citizen journalist site, media rakyat, Maszlee commented that he was scheduled to give his statement to the police at IPD Putrajaya at 10 am this Friday (Jan 14).

Maszlee explained that Bukit Aman had also opened an investigation paper against him and further claims that it was due to him being local over alleged impropriety surrounding Azam.

"I was asked to appear at IPD Putrajaya this Friday at 10 am. Bukit Aman has opened an investigation paper against me. And (I) was thought to have been vocal on the issue of Azam Baki,'' he said.

Azam recently has courted controversy over alleged share trading allegations.
