Near thousands queue for vaccine booster shots in Emporis Kota Damansara offsite PPV
BY DANIAL DZULKIFLYSHAH ALAM -- A long snaking queue of anxious vaccine booster seekers were seen at the Emporis Kota Damansara offsite vaccination centre (PPV) earlier today.
In a viral two-minute video, it recorded the line of people queuing since early in the day that circles around the Emporis mall, with people numbering near the thousands.
In the video, many were seen checking their phones while anxiously looking over the long queue ahead.
Some were even showing PPV workers stationed there of their respective MySejahtera status for proof of their vaccine booster shot appointments.
The Health Centre responsible for the Emporis PPV centre is the Primer Cherang Clinic, Kota Damansara.
On January 4, ProtectHealth Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Dr Anas Alam Faizli had informed the public that offsite PPVs, like the one in Emporis Kota Damansara, will no longer accept any walk-ins to prevent unnecessarily long wait time and congestion at these centres.
Instead, vaccine boosters shots at these locations will be administered via appointments.
Last year in December, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had announced that full vaccination privileges will be withdrawn from Sinovac vaccine recipients and those aged 60 and above if they do not obtain booster doses by February
