Known as Japan’s largest retail bookstore chain, there is something more you should know about the new bookstore coming to town.

You might wonder why is Tsutaya Books so hyped up worldwide? Or how different can it be from the local bookstores?

Hirakata, Osaka witnessed the opening of the first Tsutaya Books in 1983 where it embodied a new concept presenting a space of “lifestyle navigation” through music, movies and books targeted to the young adults.

The concept became a hit as it allows people to hang out with a wide collection of book, CD/ DVD, stationery, food, cosmetics, audio and clothing until Tsutaya Books has expanded to various locations nationwide.

Today, it has 1,200 stores in Japan and nine in Taiwan and China.

To all the book lovers in Malaysia, kindly wait for its grand opening and you can savour the seemingly urban vibe you can rarely see in other bookstore at Pavilion Bukit Jalil soon.
